ROAD IS THE PARKING PLACE

Look at the picture, what do you think is the problem here, whose mistake is it?

We are fighting the new age problems of rapid urbanization with obsolete Infrastructure. I think we are not innovating enough to address the problem esp. India. Is it the mistake of car owners to park on the already congested roads? but why would they park if there is enough parking space provided by the Shops, commercial spaces? but why are these shops or commercial spaces couldn't provide the parking space which will bring in more customers?

To commute through these roads, with vehicle parked on either sides, isn't it a stressful experience.

With the economy growing, every household now owns multiple vehicles, but the size of the roads hasn't changed.

It is better to expand the roads. but where do the existing shops go?

The best way to address the issue:

1) Establish commercial zones: New commercial zones should be established in different directions of the city, keeping in mind, the strategic logistic points. All the existing owners must be allotted the place for development and may be partially compensated for the development of their shops. Shops in each category may be located in a single location. There must be a deadline for development say 3 years from the compensation date. The latest drainage facilities, electric line facilities ensuring continuous supply, and multi-floor parking spots may be provided. This commercial zones must be established in size keeping in view future development. There must be food courts for customers and child parks for kids to spend time. The children will be tagged to their parents using bar code tags. So parents can peacefully shop.

2) After the specific time, the demolition must happen, debris must be recycled and new roads may be laid.

This greatly improves the quality of life in cities by reducing stress in commuting, customers will tend to spend more, The latest facilities of drianage, electricity, and water supply will be added advantage to the shop owners..
